Robert Doane, MD
Dr. Doane graduated from Michigan State University with Bachelor and Masters degrees in Mechanical/Biomedical Engineering in 1988 and 1990. He then attended Wayne State University Medical School and continued there completing his Orthopedic Surgery residency in 1999.
He completed a Shoulder Fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas in 2000. Dr. Doane specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and shoulder replacement as well as minimally invasive hip and knee replacements, plus general orthopedics and sports medicine.
Dr. Doane was first in the Jackson area to perform arthroscopic acromioplasties, distal clavicle excisions, rotator cuff repairs, bankart/labrum repairs, capsulorraphies, capsule releases as well as COMPLEX tendon transfers for rotator cuff deficiency. Dr. Doane was first to do complex SHOULDER SURGERY IN GENERAL such as reverse total shoulder arthroplasties, REVISIONS OF SHOULDER REPLACEMENTS AND ROTATOR CUFF REPAIR as well as mini-incision hip and knee joint replacements after receiving the proper training. He performs difficult cases, proximal humeral fractures and humeral shaft non-union of fractures, along with shoulder infections.
